Adiantum Aethiopicum - Maidenhair Fern

A graceful fern with black stemmed fronds carrying soft, light green foliage, Ideal for indoors and patios. Maidenhair ferns are one of the classic indoor plants, they love a position with filtered light and will tolerate a fairly bright position like under a skylight or on a windowsill (but not one that receives full midday or afternoon sun).

If your maiden hair grows too large for its container, pot into a larger container (approx 3 times the volume of the current one) add some slow release high nitrogen feed and watch them grow.

These are the Adiantum Aethiopicum, a native Maidenhair Fern

If your maidenhair fern dries out and dies it is OK! just cut it back about 2-5cm from the base, give it a good soak, feed it and it will start to send up new fronds. Good luck!
